FORUM THREE: Dangerous and Persuasive Women - Celebrating a Centenary of Suffrage in Victoria 1908–2008 - Keeping the Faith
Please note that seats for the third forum in BMW Edge Theatre are now full. There is a slim chance we will be able to stream the forum live into another area of Federation Square. If this is made possible, and you are interested in being alerted to this, email women@vwt.org.au with your email address and telephone number, or phone (03) 96420422.
The Victorian Women’s Trust (VWT) is proud to present its third free forum commemorating the centenary of suffrage in Victoria, on 29 November (from 2pm) at the BMW Edge Theatre, Federation Square.
To complement the Trust’s past two forums (which reflected on past history, covering women’s struggle for the vote as well as other campaigns), the Trust has chosen the theme ‘Keeping the Faith’, featuring three thought provoking speeches examining women’s current day experiences, challenges, and hopes for the future.
To cap off the afternoon, the Trust will host the inaugural singing of a women’s anthem, by a choir of 400 women. The anthem, ‘Love and Justice’, has been composed by extraordinary Melbourne musician Kavisha Mazzella, as specially commissioned by the VWT.
WHEN: NOVEMBER 29, From 2pm
WHERE: BMW EDGE THEATRE FEDERATION SQUARE
While the event is FREE, bookings are essential. Phone (03) 9642 0422 or email women@vwt.org.au
