Woody - Songs of Freedom

Marking the 50th anniversary of the death of folk legend, Woody Guthrie, BRUCE HEARN from the iconic band Strange Tenants, has assembled some of Melbourne’s finest folk/roots musicians to form The Machinists, comprising KAVISHA MAZZELLA, CHRIS PASCOE and PETER BLEUKK to perform an evening of Woody’s political/social justice songs. They will be joined by special guests MICK THOMAS & KERRIE SIMPSON as well as the 20 piece Victorian Trade Union Choir.

‘Woody: Songs of Freedom’ will be a unique opportunity to celebrate the music and politics of struggle for a better world free from war, racism and inequality.

Doors open at 3pm
